Connecting with Kolkata

I am an unabashed lover of bengali food, sometimes to the extent of being a fascist about it.

I have had the privilege of staying in Kolkata and tasting food of every nook and corner. Both authentic home-made and street offerings. Anyway that story for sometime later.

Kolkata Konnections situated right opposite to Toyota showroom in Malad offers biryanis, kebabs, rolls and fish fries straight from the streets of Kolkata.

First I ordered my favourite and staple diet, chicken biryani.

Biryani came, perfect aroma of Kolkata biryani, I was delighted to see the yellow potato & one egg peeping out of the brown steaming rice and saying hello to me!

Check, fine thin rice, Check, aroma. Check, no fried onions, Check, no extra added spices.

Now the big one was to taste the meat. Perfect, as it should be, tender, flavour of spices well inside of the chicken pieces. I had hit the jackpot.

Biryani was backed by a sweet n salty Raita with onions and green chillies to refresh your tongue.

Not to say that finished the entire full plate of it. No appetite left to try out other offerings.

One full plate for an affordable Rs 220. Can easily serve to two (average eaters)

A must for every biryani lover. Total bliss.
